Jordan Greenberg is leaving SiriusXM after more than two decades. He officially joins the PWHL on Monday.
What We Know: Greenberg most recently served as Senior Director of MLB Programming for SiriusXM, a role he held since February 2016. Before that, he spent more than a decade as executive producer of MLB Network Radio. There, he produced Power Alley and on-field broadcasts from the World Series and All-Star Game. Notably, he also produced SiriusXM’s Team USA hockey coverage at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
What They Said: Jordan Greenberg (via LinkedIn): “After 22 years, 7 months, and 16 days (who’s counting?), my time at SiriusXM comes to an end. I couldn’t have imagined when I walked through those doors in 2004 that I’d spend half my life (so far) there. The countless adventures, friends, experiences, and knowledge I’ll take from that journey are immeasurable. But I could not be more excited to be joining the PWHL beginning Monday. The league is growing incredibly quickly, is so much fun to watch, and I can’t wait to hit the ground running and be a small part of it. What Remains Unclear: However, the PWHL has not yet detailed Greenberg’s title or responsibilities. Additionally, SiriusXM has not named a successor to oversee its MLB programming.
What It Means: Ultimately, the move gives the PWHL a veteran producer with deep live-event experience. Moreover, his Olympic hockey work offers a natural bridge to his new home. Meanwhile, SiriusXM loses one of its longest-tenured sports programming leaders. For Greenberg, it marks what he calls career adventure number two.
