Mike Gallagher Launches ‘The No Interruptions Podcast’

0

One of the biggest criticisms of any conversation between the political right and left are that neither side feels they can get their point across without being interrupted. Conservative radio host Mike Gallagher is trying to do something about it.

Gallagher has announced a new podcast, that will publish in his already existing podcast feed for his nationally syndicated radio program, called The No Interruptions Podcast.

He said the idea came to him after noticing a complete absence of any similarly styled debate programs.

“Even when it’s not a troll, I do interrupt people too much. And I know that and I’m working on it,” Gallagher said. “But I came up with an idea the other day. Why don’t we do a podcast that has no interruptions whatsoever, but yet presents challenging, complicated, compelling issues in a debate format with no shouting and cross talk and interrupting each other?”

Gallagher continued by noting that even though the podcast will air on his podcast feed, he will simply serve as the moderator between the two guests of opposing political ideologies. He admitted he wasn’t a fan of his role, but believed it made for an interesting conversation.

“It was torture to be the moderator. You know what? It worked. It was pretty good. In fact, it was very good. And I think you’re gonna like it. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, download the podcast,” Gallagher said. “It’s the first installment of what we trust will be many more episodes of The Mike Gallagher Show. The only rule, no interruptions allowed. You hear the right, you hear the left. I just keep the train on the tracks.”

Bill O’Reilly: ‘No Doubt’ Rupert Murdoch Will Look Bad Testifying in Dominion Suit

0

Fox News is beginning preparations for its defense against a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit brought forth by Dominion Voting Systems. Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly believes a major portion of that defense should be centered on working with Rupert Murdoch.

O’Reilly told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that there are both good and bad outcomes so far for the cable news outlet in the pre-trial motions, but said Murdoch likely won’t come across well on the stand.

“Rupert Murdoch will be called very quickly, and a good lawyer will not make him look good. There’s no doubt about it. So you would think that Rupert Murdoch who calls his shots, would try to settle,” O’Reilly said.

He then stated that, in his estimation, it’s unlikely that Dominion would settle the case because it believes there’s a high likelihood of victory.

“It’s asking the jury of regular folks, who will give it punitive damages as well, which could lift it up to $2 billion dollars. Now, a federal judge will bust that down, but it’s a catastrophe for the Fox News Channel. No cameras in the courtroom? That’s a benefit to Fox…Every, literally every news organization covering the trial, wants Fox to lose. A hundred percent.”

O’Reilly continued by saying that Dominion “is going to be able to show” that Fox News acted with a “reckless disregard for the truth”, and will likely emerge from the lawsuit victorious.

The former Fox News host has shared his thoughts on the potential loss for Fox, stating that “The Fox News haters see it as an opportunity to destroy that business once and for all,” while appearing on The Glenn Beck Program late last month.

Tomi Lahren: Mainstream Media Has Already Moved On From Nashville School Shooting

0

Late last month, a 28-year-old shot and killed three adults and three children at a private Christian school in Nashville. The details of a reported “manifesto” have yet to materialize, and OutKick’s Tomi Lahren believes she knows why.

During an appearance on 93.1 WIBC’s Hammer & Nigel, Lahren was asked about any information that has been released about the shooter’s motives. She argued that information likely isn’t going to be made publicly available, and if it will, it won’t be covered extensively because the media has moved on from the story due to the gender identity of the shooter.

“Oh, you mean that’s still a thing? Because if you watch the mainstream media, they don’t seem like they care too much about this at all. They’ve buried it, and they’ve moved on,” said Lahren. “Now everything, again, is going after Trump and protecting trans people and elevating biological men into female categories. No, there hasn’t been any new news on the release of the manifesto.”

Lahren, who relocated to Nashville in 2020, had previously questioned if the media would cover the event at all due to the shooter’s reported transgender status. At the time, she claimed that because the shooter didn’t fit the usual profile of a mass shooter, the event wouldn’t receive the same coverage.

However, days after the shooting, the situation was continually the lead story on most cable news networks and remained on the front page of several major newspapers.

Dan Abrams: Tucker Carlson Interview with Donald Trump ‘New Level of Phoniness’

0

During the evidence-gathering phase of its defamation lawsuit against Fox News, Dominion Voting Systems uncovered text messages from Tucker Carlson that showed he privately despised Donald Trump.

However, Carlson recently aired a sit-down interview with the former President, where he spoke glowingly of the man and the job he did leading the country. NewsNation host Dan Abrams took issue with Carlson’s hypocrisy.

“What’s so stunning about this interview is it took place just weeks after Tucker’s private thoughts about the former President were exposed to the world in the form of text messages that he sent to colleagues that were made public by the ongoing defamation lawsuit against Fox News from Dominion Voting Systems, Abrams said. “It’s the dishonesty, not the soft-pedaling, that seems so striking.”

The Dan Abrams Live host then admitted that it’s possible Carlson has simply found a new perspective on the former President. While that’s a possibility, the NewsNation host said he should still at least point out the elephant in the room.

“Maybe he’s changed his mind. Fair enough. Then acknowledge that. Acknowledge it! Say ‘You know what? I thought Donald Trump was awful, but I was wrong’. Sure, it would have looked transparent, but at least it would have shown he recognized the absurd hypocrisy of what he did. He’s allowed to change his mind! But instead, he just pretends those texts and those sentiments don’t exist,” argued Abrams.

“Maybe his audience doesn’t know those texts exist, because Fox News has hardly reported on the Dominion case. But to everyone else, particularly those like me who long respected Tucker Carlson, this is a new level of phoniness.”

Nielsen CEO Promises to Rebuild Trust Through Transperancy

0

In a recent interview with Ad Week, David Kenny, CEO of Nielsen, discussed the company’s efforts to regain the trust of publishers and buyers, as well as its top priorities for the next two years. This comes after Nielsen lost third-party accreditation in late 2021, with the Media Rating Council (MRC) confirming that the company’s status remains suspended.

Last year, the measuring company acknowledged its failure to accurately gauge local and national viewership during the initial stages of the pandemic. This miscalculation may have resulted in significant financial losses for their customers, leading to the revocation of their accreditation by the MRC over a year ago. Despite this setback, Nielsen managed to perform satisfactorily during the upfronts.

Kenny emphasized the importance of transparency regarding the data and methodologies they employ. To achieve this, they have actively participated in MRC committees, where they continue sharing their methods openly.

“We’ve also been very clear that we produce a single number; it’s a syndicated number. Everyone sees the same thing. So, people have opinions that might favor their story,” said Kenny. “At the end of the day, I think staying true to what we’ve always been, which is the best estimate of what the audience is actually doing at a granular level. And I think the more we’re proving that out, the more trust we build.”

Kenny stated that given the significant effort we’ve invested in auditing and accreditation, we must prioritize continuous improvement in quality, process control, and technology adoption to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the work.

“It’s not like when accreditation is restored, we’re done. We’re going to continue to make sure we set the gold standard,” he said.

“The second part, there isn’t enough trust in the media ecosystem generally. Between advertisers, agencies, platforms, and networks, when you’ve got this kind of change, there becomes a level of mistrust,” he added. “I want to make sure there’s trust in Nielsen, but that Nielsen is helping build trust between the other players. I think a lot of trust comes from transparency. So, making sure we continue to be transparent, and we engage in open, transparent systems.”

Ian Eagle: Noah Eagle Wouldn’t Use Our Last Name Until He Established His Own Identity

0

There was a time when L.A. Clippers radio voice Noah Eagle wouldn’t introduce himself to others using his last name, sometimes even trying to avoid using his last name altogether.

Noah, the son of CBS play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle, was just finding his way as a journalism student at Syracuse University at the time. Ian told Carl Dukes and Mike Bell on 92.9 The Game in Atlanta that it wasn’t because he was ashamed of who he was.

“He truly wanted to just create his own identity there, and finally once he was established, things changed – dynamic changed – and he started saying his full name,” Eagle said Wednesday. “It’s been amazing. It’s been so cool and it’s been obviously great for our family.”

Bell asked Ian if he ever put any pressure on Noah to go into broadcasting as a kid, but Ian said Noah took it up on his own and that he didn’t have to work in the same field if he didn’t want to.

“Whatever he wanted to do I was gonna be behind him. My wife was gonna be behind him,” Eagle said. “He was probably about 14 when he started showing a real interest in this and I would find him reading the media guides and looking at my charts.”

“I realized at some point that he had become a student of it and was serious about it,” he added.

Marc Bertrand: ‘RedZone Has Gone in the Tank’

0

Pricing for NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTubeTV was revealed earlier this week, and as was expected, it’s going to cost you more to subscribe than it did on DirecTV.

An option to add NFL RedZone to your package with or without a YouTubeTV subscription is also available. But on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, host Marc Bertrand told the audience they do not need it.

Bertrand said Wednesday on Zolak & Bertrand that when you stay glued to RedZone, you miss out on a good chunk of action across the league.

“Because RedZone has gone in the tank the last few years,” Bertrand said. “Because what RedZone has decided to do, as I explained last season, they’ve taken whatever the national available game is – the game you’re already getting for free in most instances – the one that if you flip over to FOX or CBS – the 4:25 – they’re feeding you that at all times outside of when someone is about to score. You never get a live look-in at those other games when there’s not a team in the red zone.”

“I don’t feel like you can watch the game when you’re watching RedZone,” he added later. “I’ve done that with my kid when the 4 o’clock’s on. But he’s doing some fantasy, and next thing you know you’re popping in on this team, that team, this team’s at the 10, this team’s at the 5. I don’t have any flow of game or who’s winning.”

Co-host Scott Zolak said RedZone serves a specific purpose that clearly doesn’t meet the needs of Bertrand.

“It’s not perfect, but if you want to keep up with a lot of stuff at once, I still think they do a pretty damn good job,” Zolak said.

“I like to watch a game and have them peek in and give me an update,” Bertrand said.

“But then you get even less,” Zolak responded.

Elon Musk Accuses BBC Reporter Of Lying About Hate Speech on Twitter

0

During an impromptu interview on Tuesday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk turned the tables on BBC reporter James Clayton, who appeared flustered and repeatedly requested to discuss a different topic when Musk redirected a question about COVID information. The interview covered various topics, including Musk’s acquisition of Twitter.

According to The Daily Wire, when asked about Twitter’s removal of “COVID misinformation labels,” Musk told Clayton that COVID is not a concern anymore. In response, Musk redirected the question.

“Does the BBC hold itself responsible for misinformation regarding masking and side effects of vaccinations and not reporting on that?” Musk asked.

In response, James Clayton hesitantly replied, “I don’t believe this is an interview about the BBC.” Elon Musk quickly responded with a quip, “Oh, you didn’t think it was?” Clayton reacted with a nervous laugh and clarified that he was not an official representative of the BBC’s editorial policy.

During the back-and-forth, Clayton noted that he had observed an increase in hateful content on Twitter following Elon Musk’s acquisition.

Musk inquired about a specific example of such content; Clayton appeared unsure and commented on the presence of comments that could be viewed as “somewhat racist or sexist.

“I don’t use that feed anymore because I don’t particularly like it,” Clayton stammered.

“You said you’ve seen more hateful content, but you can’t name a single example, not even one,” asserted Musk.

Despite this, Musk persisted in asking for a specific example, leading to Clayton’s frustration as he claimed they needed to make more progress. It proposed shifting the discussion to another topic.

“You just lied!” exclaimed Musk.
