Conservative filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza has turned his documentary film 2,000 Mules into an upcoming book, but a snafu allowed the book to be sold earlier than anticipated, which liberal podcast host Keith Olbermann found amusing.

During his Countdown with Keith Olbermann podcast Tuesday, the eponymous host mocked D’Souza and his publisher for the error.

“The Dinesh D’Souza pile of crap in a book cover called 2,000 Mules has been recalled by the publisher. Regnery, the vanity press for the fascist-set, has put out an alert to all booksellers. A full recall with a big red exclamation point on it. It got to Walmart and from Walmart to author Nancy Levin with Regnery saying it was ‘erroneously published too soon’. That 2,000 Mules named Dinesh D’Souza was not supposed to come out today, but rather October 25th. Could you not make up a a better excuse for this? My god. To steal an old Chevy Chase Saturday Night Live joke, they will skip the traditional paperback edition and go to one printed directly on confetti.”

According to Regnery’s website, the book is slated to be published in November of this year.

Charlie Kirk: The New York Times ‘Priming The Pump’ For Donald Trump Indictiment

In his first day back hosting his radio show after taking a week off to be with his wife as they welcomed their first born child, Charlie Kirk noted a recent article from The New York Times is a precursor to a potential coming indictment of former President Donald Trump after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago estate in search of classified documents.

“(The New York Times) wrote this long piece over the weekend. Basically, laying out this intellectual case — their supposed pseudo-intellectual case — for an indictment,” said Kirk. “And The New York Times, they love ‘I told you so’s’. They love to say ‘As I told you a couple months ago we were right about this. We were very clear about why Donald Trump needed to be indicted’. Nonsense. They wrote this piece — and I don’t want to make a habit of covering The New York Times — but they wrote this piece, ‘Donald Trump Is Not Above The Law‘ by the editorial board.

“Now, The New York Times wrote this piece probably in collusion and coordinator with the FBI and probably the Justice Department, with prosecutors. The New York Times can be best compared to, metaphorically, a fullback or a snowplow. To force forward, to pave the way, for a coming or a looming indictment.”

The Charlie Kirk Show host then said The New York Times is working to move the “Overton Window”. The Overton Window, a political range of discourse that ranges from unthinkable to acceptable to popular. In Kirk’s view, The New York Times wrote the story to move the Overton Window to view Donald Trump’s potential indictment as “acceptable”.

“So The New York Times writes this article to try to move the Overton Window,” Kirk posited. “To try to prime the pump for a grand jury they’re trying to empanel. Now I know some of you might say ‘Charlie, none of this is new. They’re trying to get Trump’. Now this is very important, we’re going to go a step deeper. Because this impacts the mid-terms and I think Republicans are mishandling this.”

Michael Irvin Inks Extension With NFL Network

Michael Irvin isn’t going anywhere after signing an extension to remain with NFL Network.

The 56-year-old’s deal was slated to end before kickoff of the upcoming NFL season but he wanted to remain with the network and the network wanted him to continue, per a report from Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports.

Irvin has been with NFL Network since 2009. He’ll continue his work on NFL GameDay Morning and make regular appearances on NFL Total Access.

While there was speculation ESPN may have been interested in his services, Irwin decided instead to remain with NFL Network. He will, however, continue to join Stephen A. Smith as a contributor and pundit on First Take.

He will also continue to host The Michael Irvin Podcast with PodcastOne.

Jomboy Media Debuts The Chris Rose Football Show With C.J. Uzomah

Jomboy Media continues its forray into content outside of the baseball realm with a new podcast featuring Chris Rose and New York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah.

The Chris Rose Football Show with C.J. Uzomah will be released “every few weeks”, Rose said, during the football season. It’s the second football focused podcast from Jomboy Media, after Talkin’ Giants launched in 2019.

“Chris Rose helped us build our legitimacy early on as a company, and is the obvious fit for expanding Jomboy Media’s scope to national football coverage,” Jomboy Media founder Jimmy O’Brien said. “As a host, Chris knows how to get the best out of players. Just like he proved in baseball with the Rose Rotation, he’ll take us on a fascinating journey this season with C.J. Uzomah, who we’re proud to welcome to the Jomboy Media family.”

A video version of the podcast will also appear on YouTube.

“Our goal is to pull back the curtain and show what life’s really like pros during an NFL season.” Rose said. “What’s it like to be the new guy in the big city? How do you build momentum as a player week-to-week after wins? Or change course after losses? C.J. is a proven talent as an NFL player, but I want fans of all teams to appreciate who he is as a person as we go through the ups and downs of a season together.”

A podcast was something Uzomah had been interested in and is glad to have found an outlet.

“This podcast is a way for me to express myself outside of the game that I love and am blessed to play at a professional level,” the eight-year NFL veteran said. “It gives me a platform to talk football as well as interests outside of the sport. We’re going to have a damn good time.”

Tim Roye, Dave Raymond Named Co-Voices Of Stanford Cardinal

Stanford fans have lost a familiar voice. Scott Reiss will not be on the call of Cardinal games in 2022. He left the job for a TV role in Kansas City.

The school announced on Monday that not one, but two men will take his place. Both have considerably higher profile jobs outside of the football season.

The majority of games will be called by Tim Roye. He is also the voice of the Golden State Warriors and has been on the radio call for all four of the championships during the team’s Splash Brothers era.

Dave Raymond will also call games this season. He has spent the last five years as the TV play-by-play voice of the Texas Rangers, a role he will stay in. Raymond is a Stanford alum and will call games when the Warriors create a conflict in Roye’s schedule.

Both men will work with John Platz. He remains in the color analyst role.

All Cardinal games will air locally in the Bay Area on KNBR.

Sinclair’s Diamond Sports Reportedly Preparing RSN Sale

According to a report from Sports Business Journal, Sinclair owned Diamond Sports has partnered with LionTree and Moelis, a pair of investment banks, with consensus being the move was made in a preparation of selling the company’s regional sports television networks.

Diamond Sports, which owns 21 regional sports networks mostly under the Bally Sports brand, has as much as $8 billion in operating debt. Sinclair bought the regional sports networks from Disney in 2019 for $9.6 billion.

LionTree recently represented billionaire Ted Leonsis as he completed a purchase of NBC Sports Washington from Comcast. Moelis, according to SBJ, “specializes in corporate restructurings”.

Sports Business Journal reporter John Ourand reports companies who have considered buying the regional sports networks have predicted Diamond Sports Group will eventually file for bankruptcy, noting it would be a “worst-case scenario” for the NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS teams whose games air on the channels.

Peter Boyles Rejoins 710 KNUS

After stepping away from his morning show host position in March, 710 KNUS host Peter Boyles is returning to the station.

Boyles will host a Saturday morning show from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the Salem Media Group conservative talk station. The show will debut on September 10th.

“I’m really looking forward to doing weekly talk radio,” the 79-year-old Boyles said.

Randy Corporon’s weekly show that previously aired in the timeslot has been moved to 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturdays.

“Pete is a Denver radio legend and we are blessed to have him back sharing his unique take on the issues of the day,” Operations Manager Kelly Michaels said.

George Brauchler recently succeeded Boyles in mornings at the station.

Chris Stigall Lauds Commentators Against Student Loan Forgiveness

Philadelphia radio host Chris Stigall lauded a pair of commentators in the mainstream media who have taken positions on college loan forgiveness that are in stark contrast to what their colleagues are saying.

During his show Monday, “The Chris Stigall Show” host praised HBO’s Bill Maher and CNN’s Paul Begala for speaking out against President Joe Biden’s decision to cancel up to $10,000 in student loan debt.

“Maher is livid that we are not talking about the cost of college or that college itself is a scam,” said Stigall.

Speaking to Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and filmmaker Rob Reiner on his “Real Time” show, Maher called college “unnecessary for most people.”

“It’s interesting; they are people that have college loans,” said Maher. “They are other people in America, the vast majority of Americans who didn’t go to college and they didn’t have college loans, so they are a little pissed with this.”

Stigall said Maher eloquently pointed out the division in the Democratic party over college loan forgiveness.

“There are some [Democrats] like Bill Maher and Paul Begala who are warning Democrats here that you’re going a little too far,” Stigall said.

He added that President Joe Biden isn’t paying off student loans; taxpayers are. He noted that loyal Democrats like CNN contributor Paul Begala could see the writing on the wall.

“I’m a progressive, and I want to help folks, but I think this is a terrible policy,” Begala said.

Jimmy Failla Credits NY Post for Hunter Biden Story

Fox News Radio host Jimmy Failla is crediting the New York Post with drawing attention to Hunter Biden’s alleged business dealings. 

On Monday, during his nationally syndicated show, Failla talked about how writer Miranda Devine exposed Biden’s controversial laptop. He said Devine’s reporting was so impactful that it was censored then by Big Tech under the guise of Russian disinformation. 

“They (FBI) knew the Hunter Biden story was coming out because Miranda Devine and the New York Post were getting ready to publish it,” said Failla. 

Failla also discussed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s admission to Joe Rogan that his company decreased circulation of the story following a visit from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  He added that the media’s job should be to hold people in power accountable. 

“It’s not to take the FBI’s word for it. Especially not after the FBI told him (Zuckerberg) and told the rest of us that Donald Trump was a Russian asset controlled by Vladimir Putin,” he said. 

Failla added that Zuckerberg invested nearly $500 million in the effort to stop Donald Trump from getting reelected. Failla added that the media has propped political figures in the past and regretted the outcome.   

“We saw this happen in the run-up to the 2020 election with former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo who was flat-out getting people killed in nursing homes and the media gave him an Emmy,” added Failla.  

FAIR Event to Be Hosted at Rooftop Terrace

The crisis at the Southern Border has been a hot-button issue for news/talk stations in the U.S. since President Joe Biden was sworn-in nearly two years ago.  

Next month, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) will host its 15th annual “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” event from the rooftop terrace in Washington, D.C. 

The event will feature dozens of talk radio stations from around the country broadcasting on Sept 21 & 22. 

“F2F has spanned four presidents and become America’s largest annual gathering of talk hosts,” FAIR said in a statement. “This September marks its 15th anniversary coinciding with the most consequential midterm election of our lives.” 

Organizers said the event is about “holding public officials accountable by voters who have been informed about immigration issues and activated by the vast reach and influence of talk radio.” 

FAIR offers free room and board during the two days to radio broadcasters who do their show on-site. The organization told Barrett News Media that 70 radio stations would participate in this year’s event. They declined to state what stations would be represented. 

“This is an opportunity for Washington elites to hear from the millions of listeners you represent,” FAIR said. That’s why we cover your travel expenses and hotel.”
