Piers Morgan: When You Interview Donald Trump, You Have to Keep Going

Date:

Talk show host Piers Morgan joined the “The Megyn Kelly Show” on SiriusXM Monday to discuss his beef with former President Donald Trump. Morgan drew the ire of Trump for the way he promoted their exclusive interview that aired weeks ago.

Trump ridiculed Morgan during a rally this past weekend calling him, “over the hill” and accusing him of creating a false narrative during the interview. Trump also accused Morgan of using him to boost his ratings and said that after their interview the “Uncensored” show tanked.

Morgan joked that he always wanted to be one of Trump’s “rally targets.” He also blamed Nigel Farage, a British broadcaster and former politician for pitting Trump against Morgan before the interview.

“Farage works for a rival network of mine here in the UK,” Morgan said. “He deliberately tried to sabotage the interview by sending Trump all the very critical things I’ve said about him in the last year of his presidency.”

Morgan told Kelly that he’s always tried to be fair with Trump despite the former president’s insistence that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Morgan said that the promo he ran leading up to his interview was fair and didn’t depict something that didn’t actually happen.

“With Donald Trump, when you’re interviewing him, you just keep on going until he says stop, it doesn’t matter what his aides tell you. The promo I did was very much in the style of the Apprentice, where I tried to make it as exciting and as tantalizing as possible.”

Donald Trump hosted “The Apprentice” for 14 seasons.
