Mike Sirois Leaves The Ticket in Dallas

Mike Sirois, a member of The Ticket for fifteen years, made a startling announcement on The Norm and D Invasion, . While alongside friends Norm Hitzges and Donovan Lewis, Sirois told the listeners that he was leaving and soon.

“Here’s the Band-Aid, we’re ripping it: I’m leaving The Ticket and tomorrow’s my last day,” Sirois blurted. “No Cirque (weekend show). No fill-ins. I’m gone.”

The news came to a shock to many despite the personality quote-tweeting a station tweet promising an announcement this morning by adding “Major Station Announcement”.

“I’m heading on down the road,” Sirois continued. “There’s a myriad of reasons but essentially – this is easy. It’s almost too easy, this job and working with you guys.”

Sirois got candid with the listeners and himself as he continued to explain his reasoning. “I frankly feel like I could have been giving you guys a lot more for a long time. That’s on me because I’ve been a little complacent. I’ve been that way my whole life. I’ve sort of taken the easy road. I’m at an age now where I want to challenge myself and do some new things.”

It didn’t take long for Sirois to reveal what those new things would be. “My plan is to go work with my brother. He has two companies now and he’s swamped with work and I’m the one person on Earth he does trust and know that will have his best interest at heart.”

“It sucks. I am sort of proud of myself for doing something that’s really hard and leaving something that is so great and has been so great to me.”

Sirois added, “I’ve been here a long time, man. I’ve been here 15 years. It’s a big chunk of the 27, 28 years The Ticket has been on the air. It’s been the best 15 years of my life, by far.”

This is the second member of The Ticket to exit the station in the span of just a couple of weeks. Danny Balis, a producer at the station for twenty-two years, announced in May that he was leaving.
