Malika Andrews will make history on Thursday night. She is hosting ESPN’s coverage of the NBA Draft, making her the first woman to anchor the event.
Andrews takes over from Rese Davis, who has hosted the last ten NBA Drafts. She will be joined by Jay Bilas, Kendrick Perkins, Bobby Marks, Adrian Wojnarowski, and Mike Schmitz.
The rise through ESPN’s NBA ranks has been a fast one for Malika Andrews. She first gained notoriety on the network for detailing her life inside the Walt Disney World bubble during the 2019-2020 season. She was part of her first NBA Draft later that year as a reporter and interviewer.
ESPN put Malika Andrews into its NBA spotlight before the 2021-2022 season. Following the cancellation of The Jump and the departures of Rachel Nichols and Maria Taylor, Andrews was picked to host NBA Today, the network’s new daily studio show. She also anchored coverage of the draft lottery earlier this month.
