The veteran journalist Tony Barnhart will not be returning to the SEC Network for this season. Barnhart made the announcement on his Facebook and Twitter pages over the weekend.
Barnhart had been with the network since its inception in 2014 but revealed that he will be following other endeavors for this college football season, his 46th covering the sport.
Barnhard told a story about the SEC Network launching on his anniversary and all the while trying to help his mother find the channel so that she could see her son report from Mississippi State’s football practice.
Barnhart mentioned that he will not be retiring but will continue writing with TMG College Sports and will be launching a podcast called Mr. CFB and Friends and will continue doing a weekly Saturday show on 104.5 the Zone in Nashville.
