As Hurricane Ian prepares to make landfall in southwest Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) said he hadn’t spoken personally with President Joe Biden yesterday. Mike Gallagher, a Tampa resident, pointed out the difference in coverage and how that would compare to previous coverage under former President Trump.
“If it was Donald Trump not communicating with a Democrat governor, the media would be all over it,” The Mike Gallagher Show host said. “The media is ignoring the snafu from Karine Jean-Pierre saying he met with only Democratic Mayors of southwest Florida.
“But nothing to see here, a President not reaching out to a Governor during a time of crisis. The double standard never ceases to amaze me. It’s clearly a product of a biased, corrupt media where they constantly look the other way.”
DeSantis and Biden did speak Tuesday. DeSantis told Fox News host Sean Hannity he was “thankful” for the Biden administration’s expedited pre-landfall declaration before Hurricane Ian makes landfall.
