With a deal between the NFL and Google to place the NFL Sunday Ticket package on YouTube reportedly nearing completion, are the days of the DirecTV Red Zone Channel numbered?
According to a report from Front Office Sports, it’s a possibility that the original concept for the ever-popular presentation is on it’s last legs.
DirecTV launched the platform in 2005, with Andrew Siciliano hosting the whip around coverage of the NFL. The league launched it’s own NFL RedZone version in 2009 with Scott Hanson.

With the Sunday Ticket package moving away from DirecTV, the satellite provider would have no affiliation with the NFL. The Sunday Ticket package has been held by DirecTV since 1994.
