CNN has tabbed Danny Freeman to join the network as a correspondent based in Philadelphia.
Freeman is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who joins the network from NBC10 in the City of Brotherly Love.
He has worked at local news stations in Bakersfield and San Diego before moving to Philadelphia.
It isn’t the first foray into cable news for Freeman, who has experience working at MSNBC, as well as NBC Nightly News. He was an embedded reporter covering the 2016 Presidential election for NBC News.
“I cannot wait to work with this fantastic news team and I am so glad I can still call Philadelphia home!” Freeman said in a tweet announcing the move.
A Colombian American, Freeman is originally from New York and will officially begin his role with CNN later this month.
