WFAN host Craig Carton is hitting the road with FanDuel, but Carton won’t be promoting parlays or special offers to new customers.
Carton will be hitting college campuses across the northeast for their “Responsible Gaming College Tour” in an effort to shine a light and raise awareness towards problem gambling.
“Whether it’s connecting with young adults about my story on campus or promoting safer play among sports fans on social media, I look forward to continuing to promote a culture of responsible gaming with FanDuel,” Carton said in a statement.
Craig Carton ended up in prison for his role in a scheme to defraud investors in order to pay off gambling debts. He was sentenced to more than three years in prison but was released on good behavior in 2020, after just over a year behind bars.
With March being Problem Gambling Awareness Month, Carton’s college tour is just a portion of FanDuel’s overall initiative to do their part.
Carton will be joined by FanDuel responsible gaming ambassador and former boxing champion Amanda Serrano to help promote content on social media that emphasizes the importance of playing within limits and encouraging bettors to use FanDuel’s “Play Well” tools.
