A former host at ESPN 1000 in Chicago needs a new liver.
Harry Teinowitz, who co-hosted the station’s flagship show in the afternoons from 2001-09, posted on Twitter that he needs a liver transplant.
Teinowitz, Dan McNeil, John Jurkovic were a force in the 2000s on ESPN Chicago. The station recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and McNeil and Teinowitz were invited to reunite for the special occasion. Jurkovic has remained at the station and continues to co-host a show alongside Carmen DeFalco.
Teinowitz has been dealing with some health issues in the last several months. He had heart valve surgery back in February.
Harry also wrote a play about his experience going to rehab called When Harry Met Rehab. The play debuted in 2021.
The search for a new liver for Harry Teinowitz is urgent. He has set up an email address and asked people to spread the word. He can be reached at findharryaliver@gmail.com.
