Amazon Announces Season 2 of Coach Prime on Pat McAfee Show

Date:

Will Deion Sanders bring reality TV-style presentations to sports broadcasts? Ryan Brown asked that question earlier this week in his BSM column. The answer remains to be seen, but Sanders’s own reality show, Coach Prime, is here to stay.

Pat McAfee read a press release Wednesday on his show saying that Amazon had green-lit season 2. It is in production right now.

Deion Sanders was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show today. Both men acknowledged they only learned the news moments before Sanders connected.

The Colorado Buffaloes have been in the news a lot this week. The team’s spring game was one of the most-watched in ESPN’s history. It was followed by a mass exodus of players, who entered the transfer portal.

Sanders says the beauty of Coach Prime is that it holds everyone accountable. The production crew is filming the good and the bad.

“That’s what I mean when I say to people ‘I keep receipts.’ There’s cameras everywhere, man,” he said. “There’s a camera everywhere, so we’re gonna show it.”

McAfee marveled at the power that sports documentary series have proven to have on streaming services. He told Sanders that Coach Prime is following in the footsteps of Drive to Survive, so it isn’t unreasonable to think Colorado football could enjoy the same benefits Formula 1 Racing did.

“People learning more about your program makes them like it and respect it and appreciate it more. It’s only going to do good things for Colorado,” McAfee said.
