Tom Brady Calls Reports of Hesitation With FOX Job ‘Fake News’

Date:

Tom Brady has heard the rumors about him having second thoughts on joining FOX in 2024. He has a short, sweet and clear response.

Sports Illustrated tweeted a link to a story about Andrew Marchand saying on the Marchand and Ourand podcast that he has heard Brady is “reconsidering his options.” Brady responded with just two words less than 30 minutes after the tweet went up: “Fake News”.

There was no elaboration on the future Hall of Famer’s part. He didn’t have a detailed plan to share.

Brady has probably heard the litany of people and outlets claiming that he is never going to work for FOX and that he is more likely to be back on the field than in the booth in the near future. On Thursday, Tampa radio hosts Ronnie Lane and Tom Krasniqi said on WDAE that they expected Brady to “back away from a $300 million deal”.

FOX was high on bringing in Tom Brady from the moment he announced his first retirement in February of 2022. While that retirement lasted less than a month, the network did not give up and ended up announcing that it had come to terms with the quarterback on a ten-year deal worth $375 million to put him in the network’s top NFL booth as an analyst and also serve as an ambassador for the FOX Sports brand.

When Brady announced that he was committing to retirement this past February, speculation began about when he would report to work for FOX. Eventually, the two sides settled on beginning their relationship in 2024.

Speculation regarding the quarterback situations in Miami, where two of his three children live, and San Francisco, near where his parents live, have had many questioning whether or not Tom Brady is actually done with playing football.
