Clay Travis: I’m Famous Enough to Be on Celebrity Jeopardy

A listener of The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show joked that Travis isn’t famous enough to appear on Celebrity Jeopardy!, and the news/talk host argued that’s not the case.

During the pair’s Sunday Hang podcast, they read an e-mail from a VIP subscriber named Jim.

“Clay, I’m sure you’ve heard of Ozempic, the pre-diabetes drug with the side effect of significant weight loss. But you need ‘Ezempic’. This is a drug that with proper and regular use will significantly defeat and deflate an overinflated ego,” the listener wrote, as quoted by Travis. “Based on your comments about Celebrity Jeopardy!, you appear to believe that you are a celebrity ie a famous person. Sorry to burst your bubble but you are not a celebrity.”

“So okay. Out of all the things that I might say that is braggadocious in nature, I said that I would do well on Celebrity Jeopardy!. There are lots of people on Celebrity Jeopardy! who are not that famous,” argued Clay Travis. “I mean, we’re not talking about Brad Pitt, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift competing on Celebrity Jeopardy!.”

“I know people from our business who have been on Celebrity Jeopardy! and not to make your head any bigger, but you are more famous than those people,” Buck Sexton agreed.

“I’m not saying that I’m like an A-list celebrity here,” Travis continued. “Celebrity Jeopardy! is a very expansive definition of celebrity. So, Jim, I appreciate the wit of your email, but I think I would qualify.”

Celebrity Jeopardy! contestants on the latest iteration included Andy Richter, B.J. Novak, Candace Parker, Hasan Minhaj, Ike Barinholtz, Iliza Shlesinger, Jalen Rose, Michael Cera, Patton Oswalt, Ray Romano, and champion Wil Wheaton, among others.
