Late Wednesday evening, conservative radio host Mark Levin alleged he was informed Target would not offer his book for sale. However, due to pushback, the retailer has reportedly reversed course.
In a tweet, Levin shared that his upcoming book “The Democrat Party Hates America” wouldn’t be sold at Target “because it might offend Democrats”. He called the move “pathetic” before pushing potential buyers to other avenues.
On Thursday afternoon, Levin said that he had been told by the book’s publisher that Target had indeed reneged on its initial position and would list the book for sale.
“You folks are an immense force for free speech and market capitalism, and conservative authors and audiences everywhere will benefit from your patriotism,” Levin tweeted to supporters.
“I could not be more proud of you — not only for how this specific case turned out, as there will undoubtedly be more of this — but because you’ve made it clear that you’ve had enough and will exercise your enormous power. The silent majority is silent no longer.”
“The Democrat Party Hates America” is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, September 23rd.
