Fox Sports Radio host Colin Cowherd is taking heat for an opinion about NFL quarterbacks that have the talent to win a Super Bowl.
During Tuesday’s edition of The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the host argued on a list of 30 quarterbacks taken in the first round of the past 10 NFL Drafts, there is a list of 20 that don’t have the ability to win a Super Bowl. Included in his list, and mentioned by name, was Dwayne Haskins. Haskins was struck and killed by a dump truck while attempting to cross a Florida interstate after his car had run out of gas in April 2022.
“The third category is 20 guys who are not getting to a Super Bowl and certainly not winning it. And that’s everybody else. From Baker Mayfield to Teddy Bridgewater, Dwayne Haskins, guys that are just not good enough,” Cowherd said before noting that the television graphic contained a typo.
The clip of Cowherd’s comments were posted by X, formerly Twitter, account @BackAftaThis, a constant critic of Cowherd.
Many in sports media shared their displeasure with Cowherd’s comments.
Cowherd usually begins the third hour of his program with his opening segment from the first hour. However, on Tuesday, it appeared the reference to Haskins had been removed.
