Mobile sports betting in Florida appears to be on its way to going live nearly two years after initial rollout. This thanks to a federal appeals judge who, on Monday, denied a petition by state gaming operators seeking to block an agreement between the Seminole Tribe and the state government.
The tribe reached an agreement with the state in 2021, paving the way for a mobile sportsbook to become available in Florida. By November, the Hard Rock Bet app had gone live. It would be a month before legal challenges started mounting up, and a federal district court judge issued a ruling blocking the compact.
Barring a last-ditched appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court and something crazy happening, Hard Rock Bet will be back up and running soon.
FOX Sports 640 host Andy Slater in reporting on the news said he expects Hard Rock Bet to be available by the end of this month.
“The Seminole Tribe of Florida is pleased with today’s denial of the request for an en banc hearing by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals,” the tribe said in a statement.
