Andrew Siciliano: Calling Browns Game on Radio ‘An Amazing Moment’

Andrew Siciliano had quite the weekend. He called Ohio State vs Purdue on Saturday for Peacock, before working the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers broadcast for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network Sunday.

The Browns are without primary radio play-by-play voice Jim Donovan as he battles a return of leukemia. Chris Rose had stepped into the role but was previously committed to host pregame coverage on NFL Network due to the network’s coverage of games in London on Sunday. The Browns asked Siciliano to call Sunday’s game, which he quickly accepted.

While guest hosting The Rich Eisen Show, Siciliano joked he went over the top on the game’s final play.

“I kinda went overboard,” Siciliano joked.

During his call of the missed field goal by the 49ers to end the game with a Browns victory, Siciliano was seen fist-pumping and jumping up and down while raising his voice during the call.

“It is mildly embarrassing saying that I lost it like I lost it,” Siciliano said, noting that despite growing up in the Washington D.C. suburbs, his family is from Cleveland and are all diehard Browns fans. “

He continued by noting that he hates the circumstances in which he was needed to fill in, referencing Donovan’s cancer diagnosis, but said the position is something he has dreamed about since being a child.

“I stepped into the game doing something that I’ve been thinking of doing since I was honestly 10 years old,” he said. “I had a chance to call the game yesterday. And it was pretty cool. It was the best weekend. It was an amazing moment.”
