Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) was voted the new Speaker of the House Wednesday. The move wasn’t celebrated by all, with MSNBC hosts and analysts trashing the move. 1210 WPHT host Rich Zeoli argued that encapsulation was hypocritical.
During The Rich Zeoli Show Wednesday, the host argued that the network never gave the same distinction to former Speaker of the House, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who called the 2016 election “illegitimate” for Russia’s involvement in electing Donald Trump.
“He’s an election denier. He was Speaker of the House. So please, spare me,” Zeoli said. “They always say ‘In life, judge a person by the quality of the enemies that they have as much as the quality of the friends that they have’. And I think it’s a good thing in life. So the fact that the media already hates Mike Johnson and they’re coming after him should tell you a lot about our new speaker.
“MSNBC spent three years — three years — denying the 2016 election. Now, they’re losing their minds about Congressman Mike Johnson, now Speaker Mike Johnson, who also expressed doubts about the 2020 election. So again, if you express doubts about 2016, because of Russia, that’s fine. You express doubts about 2020? Then you’re unfit to serve, and should probably be in prison which is what they’re trying to do with Donald Trump.”
