Glenn Beck: Dom Theodore Saved My Career 20 Years Ago

Glenn Beck has been a news/talk radio staple for decades. However, he said he was on the verge of being let go before wise advice from his program director changed his trajectory.

“He’s actually the guy who saved my career about 20 years ago and told me ‘What are you doing listening to everybody else? Your show sucks when you listen to everybody else. Why don’t you do what you want to do?’,” Beck said as he welcomed Theodore to The Glenn Beck Program recently. “And I said, ‘You know? I’m gonna try that because they’re gonna fire me anyway.’ And now, here we are all these many years later.”

Glenn Beck has been the beneficiary of Theodore’s advice. He has seen his media empire take off in recent years. After departing Fox News, Beck launched TheBlaze and Blaze Media, which recently moved to a subscription-based model. He also announced an expansion of his media efforts, noting that he was wading into difficult waters.

“We’re just dipping our toe in this. It’s extraordinarily risky and expensive. So we’re just trying a few things and seeing if things catch on,” Beck while announcing new projects for his media endeavors.
