WCBS 880 anchor Steve Scott has announced his return to the New York all-news station after missing more than a month from a recent injury.
Scott shared that he’ll return to work Monday after rupturing his patella tendon while descending subway stairs in the city on November 14th. He shared he had reconstructive surgery on his injured knee in November, and has been slowly working on a return to his news anchor duties with the Audacy-owned station.
“So many nice people, many of whom I don’t know personally, have reached out over the past month to send good wishes. I really appreciate everyone’s kindness,” Scott wrote in a thread on X. “I’ve been waiting for this day. I’ve really missed being on the air on (at WCBS 880),” he said before joking “I just hope I remember how everything works in the newsroom.”
Scott has served as an afternoon news anchor at WCBS 880 since 2006. He joined the stations after spending 20 years in news radio in Chicago, including 13 years at WLS 890. Steve Scott is also the former President of the New York Press Club.
