Shannon Sharpe doesn’t have issues with Jason Whitlock and doesn’t anticipate any in the future. That’s because the BlazeTV host isn’t worth the Pro Football Hall of Famer’s time.
Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco hosted their podcast Nightcap on Wednesday, and reacted to Stephen A. Smith’s video about Whitlock.
Shannon Sharpe told Ochocinco that Smith was so far above Whitlock that he didn’t need to even respond.
“The only way he can get up is if he’s attached to Stephen A. or somebody that’s higher that’s going up,” Sharpe said.
Sharpe felt there is a mutual understanding between he and his former FS1 colleague.
“I don’t mess with him,” he said. “I don’t mess with him, and he knows I don’t mess with him. FOX tried to feed him some information about this and that, and he threatened. I don’t get into all that.”
Shannon Sharpe said he knows who and what he is. He’s just going to let Whitlock keep speaking and not be bothered with his games.
“Y’all say all y’all’s little stuff,” Sharpe said. “See the problem that he has with me – and this is what a lot of people have that are journalists – I can sit at a desk on ESPN, or I did it at FOX, and I can do what they do. They could never live in my world. They could never play pro sports.
“So now not only could I play sports and I was damn good, I can sit across, and I’m more entertaining and informative. I’m more educational than you,” he added. “Those that can, do. Those that can’t, talk.”
Ever since his interview with Katt Williams went live, Sharpe has taken heat. He chalks it up to jealousy from critics and naysayers who haven’t found the success in the media space, which he found in a short period of time.
“That irks them,” Sharpe said. “It irks them that somebody from rural South Georgia with a lisp that overcame that, can do this. It bothers them that Complex voted me most entertaining. It bothered them. It bothered them that I got the interview with Katt Williams.”
“Why are y’all bothering me? I’ve never said anything about anybody, because I don’t care about you,” he said.
