Bob Edwards Remembered By News Media

Longtime NPR host Bob Edwards died Saturday at the age of 76.

Affectionately known as “The Kentucky Colonel”, the Louisville native hosted NRP’s Morning Edition for nearly 25 years before departing the program in 2004.

He also previously spent time at WTOP in Washington D.C. in addition to his time with the American Forces Network during the Vietnam War.

Bob Edwards, a 2004 Radio Hall of Fame inductee, joined NPR in 1974 and ascended to host of All Things Considered before taking over Morning Edition.

Many current and former NPR colleagues took to social media to share memories and admiration for the deceased newsman.
