Erick Erickson departed his nationally syndicated radio show two hours early Wednesday in order to undergo an emergency dental surgery, he revealed on social media.
In a thread on X, Erickson shared that he had been dealing with medical complications since last week. After visiting a doctor, he eventually found out an infected tooth needed to be extracted from his jaw.
“I went to my office, did my radio show. At 12:50 PM the oral surgeon called,” he wrote. “At 1 PM, we went to tape and I was in surgery by 1:20 PM. They had to pull my rear left molar and cut out infected tissue from my jaw.”
Erickson — who said he had had a headache since last Thursday — called the situation a “wild ride,” but was feeling better after the operation.
“Haven’t had a headache since. Swollen and still bleeding a bit, but I’m so much better now,” he continued. “Wow. They were really concerned about the infection. But now I’m headed in the right direction. Moral of the story is don’t put off going to the doctor if you’ve got some weird pain that won’t go away.”
The nationally syndicated host — who originates his show from 95.5 WSB in Atlanta — did not reveal plans for The Erick Erickson Show for Thursday’s episode.
