The Republican National Convention continues in Milwaukee. And while 77 WABC is on location in Milwaukee, morning host Sid Rosenberg believes he has a newfound perspective on the event.
While hosting his morning show from the event Wednesday, Rosenberg spoke with conservative radio host Mark Levin about the Republican National Convention. Sid Rosenberg noted that it was the first time he had attended the event, and added that — in a good way — it was drastically different than what he expected.
“I’ve never been,” Rosenberg said of the conservative event. “I’ve covered 18 to 22 Super Bowls — I forget the number already. And I’ve covered Pro Bowls in Honolulu, NBA championships, the World Series, and big golf events like The Open Championships.
“And this is my first real political event like that. I’m three days and I saw all these people from the floor speak last night from (Rep. Steve) Scalise (R-LA) to (Rep. Elyse) Stefanik (R-NY), to (Rep. Mike) Johnson (R-LA) to my friend, Lara Trump. And I gotta tell you, being here is a lot different than watching it on TV. The energy is pretty outrageous.”
Levin failed to share in Rosenberg’s excitement for being on location at the event, however, noting that he attended the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia when George W. Bush was chosen as the party’s nominee for President.
“I went to Philadelphia about three weeks after I had a heart attack and open heart surgery,” Levin shared. “I went there and I watched the convention. It didn’t do a whole lot for me.”
