A now-deleted TikTok published by Don Lemon appearing to mock former First Lady Melania Trump after the assassination attempt on her husband has drawn the ire of many news media figures.
In the video that Lemon stitched on the social media app, Mrs. Trump calls the July assassination attempt on Donald Trump a “horrible, distressing experience.” She then questioned why the would-be assassin was not arrested before her husband took the stage. “There is definitely more to the story and we need to uncover the truth,” she concluded.
Throughout the video, Lemon can be seen shaking his head in disgust, rolling his eyes, and putting his palm on his face in disbelief.
After Lemon’s video went viral on the social media app, he was heavily criticized for the content. After deleting the video, he then trended as one of the top items on the X platform.
Several media members lobbed criticisms at Lemon for his actions.
It does not appear as if Lemon has addressed the controversy on social media or his YouTube program, The Don Lemon Show.
