WHAM 1180 morning news host Todd Hallidy has announced he is stepping away from the iHeartMedia Rochester news/talk station.
Hallidy hosts The Morning News from 5-8 AM on the station, but that will end later this month.
“It has been my huge honor and privilege to bring you The Morning News for the past ten years at WHAM 1180,” Halliday wrote. “It’s been a great ride, but I recently made up my mind that it is time to step aside from the morning shift Sept. 27 and enter semi-retirement.”
He shared that he will continue with the station in some capacity, with details yet to be determined.
“I am thankful I’ve had the rare opportunity in this industry to finish my career, on my terms, in my hometown. Many thanks to my broadcast partners, producers, and fellow newsroom staffers over the years.”
Before joining the iHeartMedia news/talk station, he previously worked as a broadcast news reporter for the Associated Press, as well as the News Director at WHAM 1180 and WSYR 570 in Syracuse. Other stops include time as a news anchor at CBS Radio in Philadelphia and as News Director of WDEL in Wilmington, Delaware.
