Total Media Group has launched a pair of new conservative talk stations in Southeast Ohio and West Virginia, utilizing “The Eagle” branding.
1030 WTHQ in Point Pleasant, West Virginia has been rebranded as The Eagle. The station is also heard on 94.1 FM, the 170-watt FM translator for the signal. The station was previously a Hot AC format. While licensed to West Virginia, the station focuses on Southeast Ohio, and will continue broadcasting high school sporting events from the Meigss County Marauders.
WTHQ-AM features a 10,000-watt daytime signal, reducing to 2,900 watts at night time.
Meanwhile, sister station WXZQ in Waverly, Ohio has also debuted a conservative talk format on its 100.1 signal, known as 100.1 The Eagle. That FM station has 6,000 watts of power, covering much of South Central Ohio. That station will remain the home of Piketon High School athletics.
The entire programming lineups for each station have yet to be announced. The stations are airing the nationally syndicated Brian Kilmeade Show from Fox News Radio.
