WBBM in Chicago is in the midst of celebrating the 100th anniversary of its launch with a content series dedicated to remembering the biggest moments in the brand’s history.
“WBBM@100” features conversations between midday anchor Rob Hart and various former and current station personnel.
Earlier this week, former Broadcast Managing Editor and Suburban Bureau Chief Julie Man joined Hart to reflect on her time with the Audacy Chicago all-new station.
“We cover so many sad and tragic things that when we get a chance to really cheer on with the rest of the people that love the same thing that we do, that really sticks in your memory as a good memory.”
WBBM originally signed on the AM signal at 1330 AM on February 6th, 1924. It began broadcasting on 770 AM on June 15, 1927, before finally landing on 780 AM in March 1941 as part of the North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. WBBM adopted its current all-news format on May 6, 1968.
