NewsNation Sees Ratings Uptick in 3rd Quarter as Chris Cuomo, Dan Abrams, Ashleigh Banfield All See Gains

In total day viewing, NewsNation grew by 18%, while the primetime ratings paced upward with a nearly 20% increase.

NewsNation features a primetime lineup with shows hosted by Chris Cuomo, Dan Abrams, and Ashleigh Banfield. During the third quarter, those shows saw ratings gains.

According to Nielsen, Cuomo was up 23% compared to the same period in 2023. Banfield’s show saw ratings growth of 22% during the quarter, while Dan Abrams Live grew 10% in that same timeframe.

Those programs were not the biggest movers for NewsNation, however. Elizabeth Vargas Reports saw the largest gains, as the 5 PM ET window grew 83% in total viewers. It also saw a 67% increase in the Adults 25-54 demographic.

On Balance with Leland Vittert, which airs at 7 PM ET, was up 76% in total viewers compared to the third quarter of 2023. Additionally, it saw a 50% uptick in the Adults 25-54 demographic compared to last year’s ratings in July, August, and September.

In total day viewing, NewsNation grew by 18%, while the primetime ratings paced upward with a nearly 20% increase.

The network moved up 12 places in the cable primetime ranker during the third quarter.
