In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, myTalk 107.1/Minneapolis-St. Paul raised $31,652. The radio station then partnered with the Diaper Bank of North Carolina to purchase over 125,000 diapers for needy families in the Asheville area.
The North Carolina Diaper Bank can buy four diapers for every dollar listeners donate.
$10 = 40 diapers
$20 = 80 diapers
$50 = 200 diapers
$100 = 400 diapers
myTalk 107.1 PD Amy Daniels told Barrett Media, “myTalk 107.1 has been doing Diaper Drives for communities affected by natural disasters since 2017 because families with small children are especially hard-hit by hurricanes. myTalk listeners care deeply about the suffering and gave their hard-earned donations to North Carolina Diaper Bank, which is providing diapers, formula, and other baby and child essentials in the midst of Hurricane Helene’s devastation. We are nothing without our generous myTalkers. We wish a full recovery for our neighbors—the community and the residents of North Carolina.”
Over the past eight years, myTalk 107.1 has collected 912,000 diapers to support people in need across Texas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, the Bahamas, Maui, and Minnesota.
