The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) has officially announced the opening of the Call for Entries for the 50th Annual Gracie Awards.
Becky Brooks, President of AWMF said, “For half a century, the Gracie Awards have celebrated the groundbreaking contributions of women in media, serving as a beacon for exceptional content created by, for, and about women. We are thrilled to mark this 50th milestone and honor those shaping the future of news and entertainment. This event is also our primary annual fundraiser, enabling the Foundation to advance women in media through essential scholarships and programming.”
The 50th Annual Gracie Awards will showcase outstanding talent from a wide range of media categories, such as radio, television, streaming, and podcasting. The event will honor writers, journalists, actors, as well as technical professionals including producers, directors, and showrunners. Media professionals, networks, and organizations are encouraged to submit their entries, demonstrating their commitment to promoting and amplifying women’s voices in media content.
In 2025, The Gracie Awards are set to introduce new and updated categories that reflect the constantly changing media landscape. These additions include a category for Podcast Writer in Digital Media, Audio Book Individual (Narrator/Producer) in Digital Media, and Women’s Health News Feature/Series in Television Local. Video podcast creators are encouraged to submit their entries in the updated Original Online Programming — Standalone Video or Video Series category in Digital Media.
NCTA, the Internet and Television Association has teamed up with the AWM Foundation to provide scholarships covering the cost of a Gracie Awards entry for content creators. These scholarships are open to both students and professionals.
Heather Cohen, President of The Weiss Agency; Annie Howell, Chief Communications Officer at Hallmark Media; and Mike McVay, President of McVay Media Consulting, have been appointed co-chairs for the 2025 Gracie Awards.
Eligibility Air Dates Period for 2024 is from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31. The Early Bird Submission Deadline is on Dec. 12, 2024, while the Deadline for All Entries is on Jan. 23, 2025. You can find the Submission Guidelines, including updated Categories and Entry Forms, here.
