iHeartMedia has announced that Rob VanDerbeck, Market President for Poughkeepsie, NY, and Sussex, NJ, will also take on the responsibilities for the Albany, NY, cluster.
VanDerbeck has served as the Market President since March 2022, following a decade as Senior Vice President of Sales. His career includes a position as Director of Sales for Pamal Broadcasting in Albany and ten years at Cumulus Media in Poughkeepsie, where he rose from account executive to Vice President of Sales.
Vanderbeck said, “I am excited about this next chapter. As a lifelong competitor, and I look forward to competing once again in the Albany Market and working alongside our strong, talented team to deliver great results.”
VanDerbeck’s appointment comes on the heels of Howard Greiner’s transition to Nashville Metro President in August.
This change coincides with the merging of the former Albany Area, which includes Poughkeepsie and Sussex, and the Western New York Area, which covers Rochester, Syracuse, and Binghamton.
The newly formed Upstate New York Area will operate under Bob Morgan, to whom VanDerbeck will report.
Morgan added, “Rob has been exceptional in leading our stations in Poughkeepsie and Sussex, and I am looking forward to working with him as he expands his oversight into the Capital Region.”
