The Washington Post has revealed it will not endorse either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in the race for the White House in 2024. Many news/talk radio hosts had opinions after the news was released.
“The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election. Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates,” publisher and CEO Will Lewis said in an opinion piece published by the outlet.
The decision marks the first time the publication now owned by Jeff Bezos won’t endorse a presidential candidate since 1988.
The Washington Post made a similar decision to that of The Los Angeles Times at the insistence of owner Patrick Soon-Siong. That decision led to the resignations of the paper’s editorials editor and two editorial board members.
After the decision by The Post was announced, many news/talk radio hosts and other news media members took to social media to share their opinions on the decision by the outlet.
