The lead-up to the 2024 election has been a long one. But WWL Radio host Scoot Paisant has grown increasingly frustrated with what he hears from his news/talk radio brethren.
The New Orleans news/talk radio host shared his displeasure with what many right-wing hosts have spoken about in recent weeks as the 2024 election nears. He called the idea that the ballots not coming up in Donald Trump’s favor don’t signal any widespread voter fraud, but you won’t hear that on conservative talk radio.
“What is pathetic about the freedom to express opinions on talk shows is the new lack of respect for the truth and facts,” he shared. “Why are talk show hosts allowed to go on the air and speak total nonsense about crucial topics concerning a presidential election? Station management allows talk show hosts to say whatever they want to say; and it becomes the audience, or responsible talk show hosts, to call out the abuses of freedom of expression.”
The WWL Radio host then argued that the mirage of someone telling the truth simply because they have their own news/talk radio show isn’t real.
“Radio talk show hosts are not honest just because they have a show. These types of talk hosts are nothing but parrots, repeating what they pick up from MAGAites or from Trump himself,” Scoot Paisant continued. “These hosts do not necessarily have original thoughts or opinions; and in the cases of preparing their listeners to deny the results of this election or that Dominion voting machines are cheating, they are bringing back prior conspiracy theories that worked in firing up the Trump base.”
“I am not perfect, but in my entire career I have never purposely promoted misinformation or blatant lies,” he concluded. “It really isn’t that hard to tell the truth.”
