Former WCBS 880 news anchor Michael Wallace has announced he is joining CBS News Radio in a similar capacity.
In a post to social media, Wallace revealed he had a new home after being let go by Audacy after the venerable New York all-news brand ceased operations earlier this year.
“Thrilled to announce I have joined the CBS News Radio Network as an anchor,” Wallace wrote. “The list is long, but I want to thank everyone who gave me their time and invaluable advice since the plug was pulled on WCBS 880 three months ago. Talk to you soon on one of more than 400 affiliates.”
Wallace spent 19 years working at WBCS 880, in addition to time spent working for The Wall Street Journal, WDBO in Orlando, and KTRH in Houston, among others.
After sharing his excitement, Michael Wallace also advocated for his former colleagues still looking for work.
“If you’re hiring, please remember my former 880 co-workers who are multi-talented and thrive under tight deadlines,” he concluded.
