Meanwhile, Longtime Seattle TV news anchor Denise Whitaker is expected to officially join the station in June. She’s currently in the midst of concluding a 20-year run at KOMO-TV. When she begins her tenure with Northwest Newsradio, she’ll be paired with current morning host and Director of News and Programming Brian Calvert as host of Northwest Morning News from 5-9 AM on weekday mornings.

Until Whitaker joins the station, Chris Nguyen, who is also familiar to Seattle news consumers, will co-host Northwest Morning News beginning on Monday, April 14th.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Denise, Aaron, and Chris to the Northwest Newsradio family,” said
Lotus Seattle General Manager Andre’ Riley. “Their extensive experience and deep roots in the Seattle
television news landscape and community will undoubtedly elevate our commitment to providing the
highest quality news and information to our listeners across western Washington.”

“This kind of talent doesn’t walk through the door every day,” added Northwest Newsradio Director of News
and Programming Brian Calvert. “We have been improving our product significantly over the last few
months, and bringing talent like this aboard further fulfils our commitment to the community to be our
absolute best. Besides being at the top of their game, these three are genuinely nice people and
awesome team players.”

The additions of Wright, Whitaker, and Nguyen, beings the third phase of a complete reimagination of the all-news brand. Other changes included a completely new music suite, a new station voiceover artist, and the expansion of local radio and television journalists.

“I’m so proud of this station, and every member of our team,” concluded Calvert.
