Today (4/14) brought the launch of a new morning show at AC B101 Philadelphia. Afternoon host Bobby Smith is sliding from afternoons to mornings, where producer Laura Boss joins him from 6-10. Then solo from 10 to noon.
Bill Tafrow, who had been hosting mornings, will take over afternoons from 12-7 pm. The moves cascaded following the retirement of Jenn Ryan last month. (BMM 3/24)
Smith shared the news on Instagram, writing, “I’m excited to share some incredible work #news: beginning Monday (April 14th), I’m moving from hosting afternoons to MORNINGS on @b101philly —you can now hear me every weekday morning starting at 6 a.m.! Our award-winning previous show with Jenn & Bill are both now enjoying staying up late and sleeping in. Jenn recently retired, and Bill is moving to my #1 rated #philly afternoon spot (no pressure, @btafrow ha!). Thankfully @laurabossss is staying on to help me drive the ship and keep me sane. Cheers to an exciting new chapter. Let’s have some fun together every morning and know that “Happy Hour” now starts at noon instead of in the evening (I know some of you reading this always start Happy Hour that early anyway 🤪)”
