Silver Tribe Media Names Neal Carruth as New General Manager

Silver Tribe Media has tapped longtime audio and digital media executive Neal Carruth as its new General Manager.

The company, which manages direct-to-consumer media ventures and top-tier talent in the digital space, announced the hiring on Monday as part of a broader effort to grow its footprint in news, tech, and personal development content.

Carruth joins the team after a successful run as Executive Vice President and General Manager at Freakonomics Radio Network. There, he led multiple aspects of the business, including external partnerships, audience development, and the rollout of a subscription program. He also oversaw the relaunch of the network’s YouTube channel, further strengthening its digital presence.

Before Freakonomics, Carruth spent more than 20 years at NPR. His career began behind the scenes, eventually rising to lead roles including showrunner for All Things Considered, Chief Business Editor, and senior leader of the network’s podcast division. His work was instrumental in developing NPR’s daily podcasting strategy.

In his new role, Carruth will be based in Silver Tribe’s New York office and work closely with existing clients. He’ll also play a key part in expanding the company’s expertise on platforms such as Substack, Patreon, Supercast, Beehiiv, and Mailchimp.
