ESPN continued to dominate the sports media space in digital once again for the month of May, securing the No. 1 spot across digital and social platforms with a staggering 175.1 million unique fans, according to the latest data from Comscore and Shareablee.

The multimedia sports giant reached nearly two-thirds of all U.S. adults—63% to be exact—through its expansive network of ESPN Digital, YouTube, and social platforms. That figure reflects a 5% year-over-year increase, reinforcing ESPN’s stronghold in an increasingly crowded and competitive digital media market.

When it comes to web and mobile performance, the network’s digital presence proved equally commanding. ESPN’s mobile app pulled in 27 million unique users—more than the next nine non-ESPN sports apps combined and eight times greater than its nearest rival. Additionally, ESPN.com attracted 55.8 million unique fans, securing the top ranking among all sports websites for the month.

But it wasn’t just clicks and visits driving ESPN’s May success—engagement was off the charts. ESPN Social racked up 768 million fan interactions across Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and other platforms. That breaks down to an average of 24.8 million engagements per day, helping ESPN secure the No. 1 spot in social for the 47th consecutive month.

This level of sustained performance speaks to ESPN’s continued investment in platform-specific content and strategic digital growth.
