Salem Media Group has announced the appointment of Richard von Gnechten as its new Chairman of the Board, replacing former CEO Edward Atsinger III.
von Gnechten joined the board of directors earlier this year. He is also the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Gift Strategist at WaterStone. He previously held executive roles for companies like Hawaiian Electric, Ravon Corporation, and Sapere Wealth Management.
He replaces Atsinger III as the Chairman of the Board. Atsinger moved from CEO to Executive Chairman in 2021. He will keep the Executive Chairman title until the end of the year, when he will move to just a regular member of the company’s Board of Directors.
“We are entering a new era and are energized about the future of Salem Media and the opportunities ahead,” a company spokesperson said in a statement announcing the move.
