Emmanuel Acho, LeSean McCoy Debut New YouTube Postgame Program September 4

Emmanuel Acho is betting that fans want more from postgame sports shows than recycled highlights and desk analysis. The two-time Emmy Award-winning host and creator is launching SPEAKEASY: Sophisticated Sports Talk, a new digital-first series that promises to bring live reactions, cultural commentary, and fan interaction into one space. The show debuts September 4 on YouTube, immediately following the NFL season opener between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

Acho, a former NFL linebacker and co-host of FS1’s SPEAK, will front the program alongside Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer LeSean “Shady” McCoy and TikTok comedian Kieran Hickey-Semple. Together, they aim to deliver what they describe as an “afterparty, not an anchor desk.” The format is designed to capture the pace and tone of modern sports consumption rather than replicate legacy postgame coverage.

“Fans don’t just want highlights—they want in,” Acho said in announcing the series. “SPEAKEASY is where athletes call in, celebrities pull up, and fans roast us live. It’s fast, funny, and built for how we actually consume sports today.”

The series will stream live after every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday NFL game throughout the season. Added midweek studio editions will be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A special Friday episode is also scheduled for September 5, following the Chargers-Chiefs matchup in Brazil. Additional live shows are planned for holiday games and select postseason contests.

Set inside a lounge-style studio in West Hollywood, SPEAKEASY is banking on variety and spontaneity. Segments will include player drop-ins just minutes after final whistles, celebrity guest appearances, and fan call-ins designed to spark debate in real time. McCoy’s “Truth Serum” will bring his trademark unfiltered takes, while Hickey-Semple will lean into comedy and internet-native content through a segment dubbed “Kieran’s Remix.” Acho will also track and revisit weekly predictions in a feature called “Acho’s Receipts.”

McCoy said the goal is to replicate the feeling of watching games with friends, not sitting through rigid studio analysis. “We wanted a show that feels like hanging out with your people, real fans, real laughs, no filter,” he explained.

Acho’s background positions him uniquely to test this approach. He developed Uncomfortable Conversations with Emmanuel Acho, a digital series on race and empathy that was executive produced by Oprah Winfrey, drew more than 100 million views, and became a New York Times bestselling franchise. That project earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction Series.

His subsequent work at FS1 brought him another Emmy, this time for Outstanding Emerging On-Air Talent.

Production of SPEAKEASY is handled by SpeakEsports LLC, with distribution exclusive to YouTube. The series intends to straddle sports and culture, hoping to capture both hardcore fans and a younger digital audience accustomed to creator-led media.
