Cox Media Group Long Island has secured the future of one of the region’s longest running radio programs, announcing a multi-year extension for The Roger & JP Morning Show on 102.3 WBAB. The agreement ensures the iconic duo will continue to anchor Long Island mornings.

Roger Luce and John “JP” Parise have been central figures at WBAB for decades, earning a reputation for engaging storytelling, witty banter, and a genuine rapport with their audience. Over the years, the show has consistently ranked among the market’s top-rated morning programs, a testament to its enduring appeal.

“Roger & JP are part of the fabric of Long Island radio. This extension ensures our listeners and advertisers will continue to start their mornings with a trusted, familiar voice,” said Katelin Tinley, Vice President and General Manager of Cox Media Group Long Island.

As part of the new agreement, Luce will expand his role at the station, assuming responsibilities as Music Director. In collaboration with Program Director Chris Lloyd. Luce will help guide WBAB’s classic rock playlist, a cornerstone of the station’s legendary sound.

Lloyd added, “This is about keeping WBAB strong and true to what listeners love: great personalities and great music.”

For Luce, the extension represents both continuity and growth.

“WBAB has been my home for more than 30 years. I couldn’t be more excited to keep building this show with JP and take on a bigger role in shaping the sound of the station,” he said.

Parise echoed his co-host’s enthusiasm, emphasizing the show’s deep connection with its audience.

“We’ve grown up with this audience, they know us, and we know them. This extension means the best is still ahead for Roger & JP and WBAB,” he said.

Since its inception, 102.3 WBAB has built a legacy as Long Island’s heritage classic rock station.
