Westwood One is making a change on its nationally syndicated late evening show, America at Night. Rich Valdes is exiting, with McGraw Milhaven set to take over the program.
Valdes became the host of the 9 PM-12 AM ET in the aftermath of the death of longtime host Jim Bohannon. He helmed the program from the days following Bohannon’s death until the show was relaunched in 2023 with new branding, utilizing the America at Night name.
Valdes served as a producer for The Mark Levin Show and hosted a weekend show on 1210 WPHT, before stepping into the nationally syndicated role at Westwood One.
Milhaven comes to the program after spending the past 21 years as host at The Big 550 KTRS in St. Louis. He ascended to the role of Program Director for that station in June 2014. He will continue to host mornings on the station, in addition to his new role working the late evening show for Westwood One.
“I’m deeply grateful to Westwood One and Collin Jones for entrusting me with America at Night—a show that many consider one of the most cherished programs in radio. It’s both an incredible honor and a profound responsibility,” said Milhaven. “From listening to Larry King and Jim Bohannon in high school, too intimidated to call in, to now being named the host… this journey has exceeded anything I could have imagined. My nightly mission is simple: to seek out great stories from great storytellers—and to share a few of my own along the way.”
“McGraw Milhaven is a trusted voice with a remarkable ability to connect with listeners across the country,” said Westwood One President Collin Jones. “His deep understanding of the issues, combined with his engaging style and journalistic integrity, make him the ideal host to carry forward the legacy of America at Night. We’re thrilled to welcome McGraw to the Westwood One family and look forward to the energy and insight he’ll bring to the national conversation each night.”
McGraw Milhaven will begin hosting the nationally syndicated show on Monday, December 1st.

I will sure miss Rich.
Milhaven has been a Trump hater and thus may have a ruff time with the typical listener. David Reardon, St Louis
Sorry to hear Rich is departing America At Night. He was always polite and engaging with his guests and to radio callers. I wish him well and hope to catch him again on the radio airwaves.
Well I don’t know why Rich was replaced but Westwood One has lost my listening support. Rich where ever you are thank you for the many nights of informative radio.
Good luck to both!
see u on the radio-(I can’t pay retail), and Happy Thanksgiving to us all…(fully functioning Pumpkin Pie diplomacy rules are the kind words of wisdom to signal appreciation for the cooks, cooked or cookies).
(Always free advice to my friends and family for the past 75 years but no high pressure until the plumber arrives, and everything is done according to “code”. not working on the jokes that are not funny.) still only American made.
Hohohi what ever Santa brings-he’s making that list, checking it twice) it’s time for the music, stay topical. Ciao for now…or we can talk, call me.😀🥣🍝
Eminent domain left overs for new customers only.
oh my goodness Johnny you’re still the funniest person I’ve ever met hahaha yes!
recipe me sweet potato let’s nosh
thanks Grandma love you
Rich is a very talented man, I am sure he will land on his feet. He did lose me with his Bad Bunny support, I stopped listening. I checked in tonight and no more Rich. Radio is a tough business.
I have liked Rich and Bohannon, but I am definitely OUT,for this guy…I can tell by his intro,he is a left-leaner. Not wishing any success…I suppose Soros is is behind this
Agree. Heard him last night and tonite and thought Westwood wanted a left leaning host. Will not listen again. We already have the legacy media for that.
Listened to the new guy…forgot his name…MacGyver or something….After listening to the show last night my personal opinion is the new guy is a hack..tons of dead air…tons of commercials…the subject matter was dumbed down (at one point it was about his 5 yr. old daughter talking to a wall) the whole show seemed to be flying by the seat of his pants-so boring…. When I tuned in to hear Rich do his show it was about what happened in America that day-supported by guests who were current on what was happening ….I won’t be wasting my time listening to this show anymore…unless Rich is back its just a waste of time
I agree .. was not impressed at all. Guess I’ll find something else to listen to at night .
100% agree w/KIM!!!! His lst show was unlistenable.
me too ,I feel the same way Rich was alot more hyper and energetic I want Rich . back on this show !!!!!
I agree totally what a waste of air time BORING
Listened last night expecting to hear Rich back on after the Thanksgiving break.
I was left rather disappointed.
Guess I’ll be flipping down to the daily rerun of Hannity during that time slot.
Lost me when Rich left! This new replacement is not my type of talk show host. Do well Rich wherever you are!! 🙏🏻
Bye to my local 920 AM station!!!!
terrible change. have lost me as a listener.
GEt ready to make another change. Sadly, this man Mr. Millhaven will fail with the audience within 3 months. I gave Rich a chance, and he succeeded with me. I just tuned out when he went off on subjects like the superbowl entertainment, however, more than 95% of the time, I listened to him. He is a genuine radio host.
I’m gonna miss that conservative Latin American flavored style, with a pinch of ‘piche y sazon.’ Rich represented that style of radio that is the soul of New York, NY. This man is not afraid to lay it on you with honestly and zest, for his tenacity in this old, yet popular business of radio was sharp and vectorized.
I truly love you, Rich Valdes (spelled with a S)…., and will miss you greatly. Yo Soy Boriqua papa.
‘West Pointer’ of the 9w Palisades Parkway!
Horrible, President DJTrump Hater, Biased, just great with a Deceiving, Constant Vacationing, Brain Dead ByDone Auto pen president! Rich was SUPERB! NEVER WASTE MY TIME AGAIN WITH WEIRD NAME MAGGOT GUY, WATEVER HIS NAME WAS.
Waste of life listening to new guy, Milly. RICH, U BEST! WE MISS YOU!
Very sad. I won’t even try to like the “new guy”.
Bring back Rich, or you’ll lose listeners.
Love Rich , not impressed w/ his replacement. Will change station at night.

I loved Richy Valdes. He was a real American, a gentleman and scholar. He was polite with his guests and callers .
You have lost me as a nightly listener.
I am from Oregon: GO DUCKS!
Lost me as a listener and totally disappointed
From Tucson, Arizona
Rich always paid respect to his predecessors, Jim Bohannon and Larry King, and to the listeners now and in the past, be it at home in varied parts of the US, or at work or on the road. There was always that sense with the show, especially open line callers, which was the best part of the show, and Rich himself was always a good interviewer, and that New York sense, though a respect for people in each part of the country
His leaving coincide, only a month after Chariie Kirk being assasinated, and now MTG splitting off from Trump, of dark forces breaking up the MAGA movement
Where is Rich Valdes now when we need him? He is a class-act. Came across more like one of us than the replacement whom I cannot stomach. Is he doing radio anywhere anymore?
I miss Rich.
I am terribly disappointed to find that Rich did not come back from a Thanksgiving break, but has been replaced by this left-leaning, unimpressive, second rate hack! Rich was intelligent, well informed, respectful to callers, as well as guests, and one of the best radio hosts and interviewers I have ever listened to! I looked forward to hearing his radio show every night, but I will not listen to this inferior version of the show! How on earth did this happen? What an ill advised decision by the powers that be on this station! Bah humbug!
