When he returned to the show earlier this week, Scoot Paisant said it was a long-overdue return.

“It feels so great to be back on the air, and to be back with you,” Paisant said. “I define my life by this show. This show was missing from my life. I lost a big piece of who I was.”

In a subsequent interview with WWL-TV, Paisant said that his heart is working “perfectly right now, better than it was before the surgery.”

Scoot Paisant has been a near-constant presence in New Orleans radio for more than half a century. After originally joining WWL Radio in 1971, he worked at a variety of stations in the market. He’s also spent time in Portland, Denver, Philadelphia, San Diego, and San Antonio. He landed back in middays at WWL Radio in 2011.
