The Indoor Football League closed out its 2026 season on a high note. More than 6.1 million viewers tuned in — the largest audience in league history.
What We Know: The IFL locked in national broadcast partnerships with Yahoo Sports Network and Overnght Sports ahead of the 2026 season. Those deals paid off: the league topped 4.5 million viewers on Yahoo Sports Network alone by June 30. Momentum carried through the playoffs and into the championship. The May 16 clash between the Jacksonville Sharks and Fishers Freight drew 454,134 viewers, the most-watched broadcast in IFL history. The season wrapped August 16 in Tucson, where the Arizona Rattlers won the 2026 IFL National Championship.
What They Said: IFL Commissioner Todd Tryon: “More than 6.1 million viewers watched IFL football this season, and that says a lot about where this league is headed. We’ve made a significant investment in our broadcast product, our talent and the way we present this game to a national audience, and fans are responding. Our reach is growing, our product is getting stronger and more people are discovering the IFL than ever before. Six million viewers is a major milestone, but more importantly, it’s the foundation for even greater growth ahead.”
What Remains Unclear: The release doesn’t say whether additional broadcast partners could join the lineup next season.
What It Means: Six million viewers on digital and FAST channel viewership signals real traction for a league still building its national profile despite its long history. Consequently, the IFL now has leverage heading into future media negotiations. If growth continues, expect bigger broadcast deals and wider exposure ahead.
