Fox News is parting ways with Maria Bartiromo after more than 12 years with the company. The network announced the move on Thursday afternoon.
What We Know: Bartiromo has anchored multiple programs across Fox News Media, including Mornings with Maria on Fox Business Network. The morning program aired weekdays from 6-9 AM ET. She also hosted Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street on Friday evenings from 7-7:30 PM ET. Meanwhile, her Fox News program Sunday Morning Futures will have a temporary change this weekend. Fox News will have Jason Chaffetz host Sunday Morning Futures this week. The network plans to announce a new permanent host at a later date.
What They Said: “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.” -Fox News statement
What Remains Unclear: The network hasn’t identified who will permanently succeed her on Sunday Morning Futures. It is also unclear who will helm the newly rebranded Mornings with Fox Business in the interim as the network transitions away from Bartiromo.
What It Means: Bartiromo’s exit represents a significant change for Fox News Media’s business-news lineup. Her presence helped connect Fox Business Network’s financial coverage with Fox News’ political audience. Now, the company must determine how to replace a familiar face across multiple important time slots. For Bartiromo, the departure opens the door to a new chapter after more than a decade at Fox.
