Fox News Adding Karoline Leavitt Ahead of Midterm Elections

Leavitt brings recent White House experience and a close relationship with Trump to Fox News' political coverage.

Date:

Karoline Leavitt is jumping to television after leaving the Trump administration earlier this year. Fox News will bring the former White House press secretary aboard as a contributor.

What We Know: Leavitt will join Fox News as a contributor beginning November 1st, according to a report from The New York Times. She served as White House press secretary until stepping down at the end of August after becoming a prominent defender of President Donald Trump. Leavitt gave birth to her second child, a daughter, in May and took maternity leave before returning to the White House. Ultimately, she said the demands of the position made it difficult to give her young children the time and attention she believed they deserved. She’ll now transition to Fox News shortly before the 2026 midterm elections. The news was first reported by The New York Times‘ Michael M. Grynbaum.

What They Said: “Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape. We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all Fox News Media platforms.” -Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on FOX News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at FOX News Media. I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House Press Secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms.” -Karoline Leavitt

What Remains Unclear: Fox News hasn’t announced which programs will feature Leavitt or how frequently she’ll appear. It’s also unclear whether her contributor role will include responsibilities beyond television appearances. However, she has already appeared frequently on Fox News during her time in the Trump administration.

What It Means: Leavitt’s move gives Fox News a familiar face with direct experience inside the Trump White House. Meanwhile, her decision represents a return to media work while allowing her to remain outside the demanding schedule of a White House position.
