KBLU 560 is back on the air in Yuma nearly seven months after the station ceased operations. The station has returned under new ownership with a lineup featuring local and syndicated programming.
What We Know: KBLU 560 signed on nearly 90 years ago before El Dorado Broadcasters ended its news/talk format in March. At the time, Russ Clark hosted morning drive from 6-9 AM, while nationally syndicated programs filled the rest of the daily schedule. Now, new owners have revived the station and brought Clark back for mornings. The station’s current lineup also includes several programs from Premiere Networks, including Coast to Coast AM, Fox News Rundown, Your Morning Show with Michael DelGiorno, The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, The Sean Hannity Show, The Jesse Kelly Show, The Michael Berry Show, and Our American Stories.
What They Said: “KBLU is once again locally owned, locally operated, and locally directed. This is more than a radio station changing hands. This is a comeback story. An American comeback story. A Yuma comeback story.” -A statement from KBLU 560
What Remains Unclear: The new ownership group hasn’t publicly detailed additional information about its plans for the station. Likewise, KBLU 560 hasn’t outlined whether it expects to expand its locally produced programming beyond Clark’s morning show.
What It Means: KBLU 560’s return restores a longtime Yuma radio brand after a brief period off the air. More importantly, Clark’s return gives the station a familiar local voice while Premiere Networks programming fills much of the remaining schedule. The move also brings KBLU back into the news/talk conversation after El Dorado Broadcasters exited the format in March. For listeners, the revival provides both continuity and a renewed local connection.
